How cooling affects performance Since the early 1980's there have been numerous studies that indicate that cooling the body prior or during exercising in heat can improve the ability to sustain intensive workloads over long periods of time. Cooler skin contributes to a number of physiological advantages.
The Research and Development teams at Arctic Heat were provided with a brief to refine a product that:
The team embarked on exhaustive development and testing. The breakthrough came with the development of special viscose gel that could be molded to the body. Extensive scientific testing, using the widely recognized Dynamic Scanning Calorimetry, compared the thermal behavior of Arctic Heat Products to other materials and found "…(Arctic Heat Products) were at least 30% times better than the other coolers tested." Field testing was equally as positive. "…a most efficient and effective form of treatment for injuries and lowering of body temperature," Brisbane Lions Australian Rules Football Club. "The Dermatology Department of the Royal Children's Hospital would like to thank you…the status of the children's eczema and living standards have improved dramatically," Emma King, Dermatology Department, Royal Children's Hospital, Australia. |
